African Queen 3

African Queen 3 is the final painting in the series. While traveling throughout  East and Southern Africa, I was struck by how often I saw women working long hours, and I found myself wondering, where were the men?

In this piece, I wanted to paint a tapestry of hard working women and to show the vast African sunset; there really is no other like it.  It is a tribute to their strength and to the magic of a place that felt both powerful and unforgettable.
