Lesotho Rondavel

Lesotho, the small country inside of South Africa, was very different to the more modern aspects of many parts of South Africa. These rondavels, or thatched homes of many locals, may seem very rustic and rural but they are ingeniously built. The walls are made from stone, with sand, soil, and cow dung used for the mortar. This method provides great insulation during the colder months, and stays cool in the summertime.
