The Cheetah

While in South Africa, I was drawn to the strength, grace, and speed of the cheetah, along with their need to take rests after great bursts of energy (I can relate). I was living in the city of Bloemfontein, which is locally known as Mangaung, meaning "place of cheetahs" in Sesotho. There was a cheetah conservation center nearby and I was lucky to get to pet a young adolescent cheetah. I was amazed by how wild, instinctive, and beautiful the animals are, especially during a South African sunset.
