Peonies

One of the first signs of summer, these two peonies happened to come out of my mom's garden, among the other many mysteries. She has been known to stick fish skins in the flower bed to fertilize the soil. A true "mother" earth lady. I stuck these flowers in a favorite little vase and I am happy that I did. A couple weeks later the vase broke into little pieces. So, at least the vase will forever be captured in this painting.
